Does your village have a recycle depot?
We have one and it works really well.
I am going to suggest that we enhance it to include fruit and veg
mainly in spring and summer.
How does it work?
Brings the community closer together, gathers money and spends
those funds to benefit the people of the region.

No a dechetterie is where people dispose of rubbish of all kinds.
The recycle depot is where people take items which they are happy
to offer without payment. Some of the items are new and unwanted and
others are just slightly dated pieces of furniture or clothing etc and they
are sold on to help the community pot.
The project seems to work extremely well.
weve got a big recycle depot, with a part of it selling remodeled/repainted stylish furnishings/fashions/toys etc made from the 'junk'. Very popular (so prices are rising now:) It used to be a big brico store, I guess everyone would like fruit and veg there too. Why not anything and everything, in fact, that might usually be found in the hypermart but the recycled version. Plants, trees, firewood, etc The dechetterie is nothing like it - it has heaps of interesting junk, but it is 'deposit only' - or the crush would be insufferable.
