Hi there @Monbazillac1
I noticed higher up the thread, someone suggested the Impots sur la Revenue/Tax Document as a useful thing to add to the pile..

This is from your prefectures site I believe. Itâs for the Brexit card renewal.
Current 5-year Carte de Séjour.
Passport.
Proof of address (Justificatif de domicile) less than 3 months old (e.g., EDF, internet bill).
3 x Passport-style photos.
Evidence of 5 years of residence (tax statements, etc.) to qualify for the 10-year card.
Probably not the best idea to put personal info (phone number) on an open forum. You can easily send a private message instead
Yes, they dinât like people having two valid CdSs, even if just for a day.
I was expecting to exchange my old card for the new one at the prefecture but perhaps not all departments ask you to pick the new card up. Either way Iâm slightly sensitive to the likelihood that I will not of a valid CdS for a period.
Thanks, message deleted
Maybe some donât, but the bast majority of times a carte de sĂ©jour has to be collected in person. And on other forum people have reported being refused if they book an appointment before expiry of old card.
Hi All, thanks for the help. Iâve got all the documents listed, how many copies of each do I need and do I need to have a copy of our passports?
Regards
Forgot, being retired do we need to show proof of income as in state pension etc.
I believe you will be issued with a very official piece of paper that you can use just in case there is a delay. My husbands extends 2 months beyond expiry date of his CDS.
@Monbazillac1 Be sure to have this printed, signed and dated: âcontrat dâengagement Ă respecter les principes de la RĂ©publiqueâ
@Monbazillac1 Provide one copy of everything, including each passportâs ID page and all pages with visas or stamps.
@ahickling I signed and received a ârĂ©cĂ©pissĂ© de demande de carte de sĂ©jourâ, with my photo and signature. This half-page document allows me to continue living and working in France while waiting for my new residence card. I am still in possession of my current valid card.
I recently posted my process and experience here if it helps: Carte de Séjour, Article 50
@sarahuss , @Arcalia I wasnât issued with anything and only later discovered a friend had been when he renewed at the same prefecture. Seems there may have been a bureaucratic glitch.
@ahickling When does your current card expire? If you still have three or four months remaining, you should be fine.
However, it may be a good idea to contact them through the websiteâs messaging service by logging into your account here: https://demarche.numerique.gouv.fr/
Here are the steps to contact them through the site: Je veux contacter le service en charge de ma démarche
@sarahuss My card expires on the 18/3/26 and I was told that I would be texted to pick up the new 10 year one when it is ready. I was also told that the text would not be before the 18/3! As we plan to travel I will follow your link to chase up.
Yep, and your dadâs birth certificate! Also the catâs ass if you have one!
Thanks all for your help, new cards received. On arriving at the prefecture, we presented all the documents as suggested and the lady only wanted our passports, proof of residency, the loyalty document and our old CDS cards.
Did you actually get ten year cards? Most people have to pay 5 years income tax in France before you qualify for that. The cartes de séjours are issued a year at a time, at 250 euros a pop!
Depends on the type of card one starts with.
Those with 5 yr WARP cards are generally being given 10 yrs, and are free!
I thought the person who wrote in had only just arrived. Sorry.
