Does anyone know if the brass rings on PER fittings can be purchased separately someplace? I get tired of buying an entire new fitting each time I change my mind or “get back to” a project I capped off for later. Or even worse when the ring rolls into some unretrievable location.
I’ve got a bucket of fittings I’ve been saving as I redo sections of heating and plumbing.
I know in the States the PEX crimp rings could be cut off with a special tool (cheaply bought) and then the fitting could be reused with a new crimp ring. I think they were copper though.
Would thought so but maybe not in a Brico shed but maybe more of a Pro place like Proliant.
You were right! Prolians has them in stock for roughly a Euro depending on the size. Now to find a tool (in France) to cut them off without ruining the fitting. Thanks for the idea!
Hacksaw.
I remember that Hep2 had a specific tool for removing theirs from their proprietary system, it would seem odd that other manufacturers wouldn’t have such a similar tool ?
Its often the case with the pressed on fittings that are not demountable like Hep2, I still have my olive puller in the UK for occasions when modifying. Hep2 and others with the large pipe inserts are not liked now (I still have some of the stainless steel inserts ) that do not reduce the flow so badly.
