Although l had heard the Gervais interviews before (l am a fan) l found Rowan Atkinson’s points extremely well made - Occasionally l have reverted to irony and/or sarcasm and tend to immediately regret it but not always. It’s a ‘cheap shot’ deployed to make an impact - Some people are more easily offended than others - taking offence where none was intended, expressing outrage at others point of view and going on the attack.
The John Wood thread (Any other Gilets Jaunes on here?) is a good case in point. Being offended by something another member writes is surely unavoidable when the authors have no personal knowledge of others opinions, experiences and place in the world. We are all different.
