Hmmm, after that performance Jean Butler said she would never dance with him again. Not known for being modest that man.

I know, but talent and modesty don’t always go together. Some of the most creative, artistic people in all walks - dance, music, art - are not ā€œniceā€ people. He was a superb dancer and he was breaking with tradition and creating something wonderful, he was arrogant and driven. I personally don’t need someone like that to be anything other than what they are.

It’s difficult to know where to draw the line. I used to love Ray Charles until I read his biography and decided the he was no longer a person I wished to listen to. I can forgive dodgy politics, and dodgy drugs, but racism, abuse of women and other types of maltreatment tend to be the line in the sand for me.

Genius and wild eccentricity is fine, but not when it hurts others. And arrogance can and does hurt others.

I don’t think ā€œmodestyā€ would have achieved that result, sometimes the end does justify the means.

Breathtaking. Even the dogs are silent, mind you, just before that I was lstening, and not just with my ears, to The Quo and Down, Down. They were watching, unmoving and open mouthed, my antics. ā€˜You have no soul’ I told them.

I expect the dogs were just wondering if cook had gone crazy and there would be no more kibble
