Could anybody recommended a French company for this, our vehicle is 12 years old and the RAC won’t cover it!
Previously had motor insurance with AXA.
Now with Caisse d'Epargne.
Both have breakdown cover included.
AXA didn't quibble about a 20 year old Traffic van.
no worries - Third party, Fire and Theft - the standard in the UK although here in France it's often just third party ;-)
Sorry Andrew, its been a long long day (and year). I am not familiar with the abbreviation TF&T - Is this an insurance type or an abbreviaition fro an insurance company
that's what I understood - both possible and the assistance is usually included in the insurance ;-)
Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. I am not trying to add the breakdown to existing insurance
I do not have a car insurer (at moment don't have a car as still just a visitor so rent a car when there) so am looking for any guidance for both the third party cover and breakdown
TF&T usually has the same roadside assistance cover, Steve, check with the insurer, as ever it pays to shop around ;-)
;-)
As a follow on, I am looking at purchasing an older camper (over 20 years old) that is not worth having full comprehensive insurance cover. However (at least this is available in Australia but dont know about France), I would like to have third party cover (ie to cover damages to anything/anyone if caused by my car) and would also like the breakdown insurance.
Any suggestions appreciated
Steve
Most french insurances have breakdown cover included but try someone like mondial assistance
