RSAC and AE - can I have both?

Having just been accepted as a 'mandataire indépendant' for an online immo company, I've been asked to provide, among other things, an 'Exemplaire/photocopie de mon enregistrement au RSAC'.

Which I don't have. Can I do this without registering under RSAC or is it a legal requirement?

I'm currently registered AE for my voice over work under the RSI umbrella.

But what is RSAC, why do I have to subscribe to it - and how will it affect my current AE status? It appears to be under the URSSAF banner, so that'll be difficult!

Can I do both, ie continue with my on-going voice work and start this new job (non-salaried)?

It took RSI many months to send my carte vitale, and many more to replace my husband's own URSSAF carte with his RSI one as he is registered under my name. Will registering under RSAC rock our boat again, and is it expensive to do?

Very confused!!

Grateful for your input / experience, thanks in advance!

NB: I asked this same question under a different heading but I think it was in the wrong place hence the re-post here.

Hi Celia. No, you don't belong to URSSAF if you're an Agent Commercial, it's the RSI that covers you. I'm agent commercial, am with RSI, and pay 3-monthly like you. Isn't there someone at the company you're working for who can help/advise you? Sometimes going along to the nearest office (with all your birth/marriage/death/divorce/certificates, copy of RSI application etc) may be the best route. Bonne chance.

Thanks Julia. I've been trying to register all day between reading endless pages on the subject. I even called the Greffe earlier but so many options to choose from I got even more confused and hung up!

The problem is, I'm already registered AE payable to the RSI and it seems that becoming an agent commercial will adhere us to URSSAF. I don't really want to change that just yet, especially as it's unlikely that I'll be earning anything for some time to come whereas I've got income from my current job on which I pay my SS three-monthly to RSI.

Has anyone ever been registered with both systems?

I was going to ask what RSCA stands for Celia. Then I googled it, and eventually found that it's to do with the Greffe du Tribunal de Commerce http://www.greffes.com/fr You need to register with the Greffe, I think because you're a sort of commercial (sales) person, though I can't quite remember why. So yes, do register.

Bonne chance.

Julia
