No, I’ve just taken a look… the “try” I remember was much more of a battle/marathon/sprint than that…

and, for some reason, Queen Salote is there in the same memory… and she died in the 60’s…

Of course, I could well be mistaken. It was a long time ago. I got into Rugby at an early age as my Dad was a VP of the local club.

I remember Queen Salote in the same carriage as Heile Selasse for the coronation in 1953 and all the jokes that she had brought lunch along.

I believe it was Brian Johnstone (of TMS) who made the comment about Queen Salote’s lunch but it was, according to his biographer, Emperor Hirohito sharing her carriage.

At last, something that makes me proud to be English.
