Wrong string. Over to the weather string!
Hasn’t rained here since March 2022! You can fry eggs on cars at the moment and my neighbour is rigging up some sort of temporary contraption so he can put a suspended cover over his BMW to protect it.
If I find more general notifications about water restrictions, I’ll post 'em here
and if someone has useful info… let’s have it, please…
From neighbours frying eggs?
Take showers not baths if you have one and actually a dishwasher uses less water than filling the sink/bowl if you don’t fill the machine every day. Same with washing machines, only use when you have a full load and do 2 rinses instead of 3.
No the spitting fat from the bacon rashers.
In summer, I’ve got used to having a stand up wash twice a day, using a wash cloth. You can do it with less than a litre of water and it gets your body clean. I then wash my hair every other day in the shower, but only have it on to wet and rinse my hair. Just a few litres each time. Having a bath every day like some people do is obscene when we have water restrictions.
Yes, actually I like to have a strip down wash to save water as well and then use the water in the cactus pots, they don’t mind a bit of soapy water. My hair is long so have to wash for a bit longer but the actual bath is not getting a lot of use currently and local hotels have removed bath plugs where there is also a shower in their bathrooms.
Dad taught us 4 kids how to “wash properly” every day, with flannel, soap and a basin of warm water…
“and don’t forget behind your ears”
No showers in those days, so hairwashing was done at the basin with a jug to pour the water over one’s head …
Trying that again nowadays… I was surprised and pleased that I can still bend myself to get my forehead almost touching the plughole…
Thats all very well, but you’ve got to get it back out again🤣
thankfully, I can still manage that… just about…
drowning is not an acceptable option…
