“Users of the drinking water supply network are asked to adopt a responsible attitude by respecting the restrictions imposed by the prefectural decree.
Thus, as of August 23, 2025, the filling of private or public swimming pools, the supply of water to beach showers and public fountains, as well as the cleaning of facades or roadsides will be prohibited.
Similarly, the watering of vegetable gardens, green spaces, lawns, flowerbeds, or shrubbery will be restricted to certain times (non-exhaustive list).
Individuals are also encouraged to limit their water consumption for daily use.”(not that we should be drinking less water, just get into the habit of treating water like a precious commodity and using it sparingly and without waste.
eg: The car can stay dirty a little longer so long as the driver can see where he’s going).
I take my cue from the tap in the cemetary which is turned off at source in winter so I know it can be. Throughout this drought it has always been on so I know I can water Fran’s flowers there, and in the garden.
