Are there ways to market directly to Americans still in the US looking for an easy escape? Perhaps websites based in the US? It actually appeals to me somewhat(I’m American), but I don’t really have any local knowledge of the drawbacks of Callac . I personally don’t like Maison de Ville type houses (parking, lack of windows) , though this one has a garage
If there is way to market directly to Americans (bypassing estate agents) , you also have the advantage of being somebody who has made the move . You might be looked upon as being an informal source of knowledge of the process.
That’s interesting, @Nunthewiser , because it has the opposite effect on me (British).
What do you like about it? I could list what I don’t like 
but that would be rude, and - more importantly - my preferences.
But I was struck by the thought, Are there certain types of property that would appeal especially to Americans (or Britons, or French people, …)?
Callac and around that area has always been full of brits as the properties were dirt cheap being out in the middle off nowhere and brits were seduced by what they could get for their pounds, hence why we got a lot of work doing renovations over there because the locals had moved out looking for work. I had a good friend from Anglo Info who did up a place for B&B and gïte rental in the area but unfortunately she hardly got any clients and it was a lovely property, just too far from anywhere. Most of the brits went further over to Huelgoat, another “brit enclave” due to cheap properties

Back when I was still in the US with a small family, it would have (on the surface) been very attractive.
In a city with train service
Shops and station walking distance
Quite large
Has garage, garden
No or little work needed
Energy rating C
Cheap by US standards
In Brittany.
But until recently I think most Americans headed south- many still do.
I don’t recall ever being in Callac, though I may have been. I , frankly, prefer the center ( Ploermel, Josslin))to avoid the crowds, but still can access the coast when I want to. But most of the center lacks rail service
^^ Checks all the right boxes for me, too. Not that I don’t like the beach, but I don’t want to be so close that I am annoyed by it. I just much prefer a sous sol or Neo Breton type of house.

Mostly branch lines, Callac to Guingamp for the main TGV line
Still, it’s a train. Better than a bus. I’m familiar with the concept here in Cholet.

Mainly used by the kids going to school I believe.
