I’m sure they will let us know when they have enough.
I’m not holding my breath. I suspect Musk, at the very least, wants to be the world’s first trillionaire.
Don’t forget he wants to own Canada which will piss off the UK and France, Greenland, Iceland, Panama. He makes NO one happy and pisses off EVERYONE. Truly scary here in the states. The tariff wars are going to make obtaining basic items in stores much harder. His “plan” for lowering food costs was just another lie he told. Elon, an unvetted, unappointed, unelected evil little gremlin who has no security clearance was given access to the US Treasury’s payment systems causing wide-spread chaoss. At least 3 governors are out for his hide.
Will they? I cannot remember the last time I ate anything sourced from America. Bought anything American or used anything American apart from a Dewalt drill.
It will make food more expensive in America where @HighwaterCowboy comes from.
Only if imported, cant tariff their own food. Or could they, ruling nothing out with the US.
Perhaps they should be relocated to Florida
Trump calls for the permanent ‘resettlement’ of all Palestinians from Gaza
Donald Trump has been speaking to reporters ahead of talks with Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, at the White House.
The US president said he would support an effort to permanently resettle Palestinians from Gaza to places where they can live without fear of violence.
Trump described Gaza as a “demolition site”. “The whole thing is a mess. It’s all death,” he said.
I think we need another location … If we can get a beautiful area to resettle people permanently.
He said he believed Palestinians should not be going back to Gaza. “Why would they want to return? The place has been hell,” he said.
Asked how many people he believed should be resettled from Gaza, Trump replied: “All of them.”
As ever, Shakespeare has an appropriate phrase: “'tis the time’s plague when madmen lead the blind” King Lear, act 4 scene 1
That’s one of the few accurate statements that the convicted felon has made.
I think we should not forget who demolished it, and from where they obtained the munitions with which to demolish it.
I normally avoid political threads but I had to pinch myself this morning - to ensure I was actually awake and not dreaming - when I heard Trump speak about his plans for Gaza on the 6am radio news
Meanwhile, quietly…
That’s Aliexpress, Shein and Temu’s US market destroyed at a stroke.
Possibly Madagascar
A sort of McCarthyism on steroids?
Greenland?
Canada?
In these alarming times I have had to avoid watching programs that involve people hurting people (or animals), which is ruling out large areas of multiple entertainment chanels.
However, before I had to look away from BBC’s excellent though dark ‘The Mirror and The Light’, I couldn’t help seeing parallels between the large orange ones involved. Although I feel the production with wonderful actor Mark Rylance makes Cromwell a far more sympathetic man than I think he really was, I see the portrait of an increasingly bulbous and rampant Henry VIII as being not far off from what the current President of US is going for.
Egypt and Jordan must be choking on their morning coffees. The gall of an American trying to tell them they must take in all the displaced Palestinians they’ve long avoided. And the poor Palestinians, like Armenians before them, being told by an American no less, that they must become a people without a country despite all they’ve endured.
Now, I’m going to walk my dogs and continue watching the ridiculous French film ‘La Soupe aux Choux’ to cheer me up….
Clean up the war torn territory to build Kushner’s luxury beachfront apartments and hotel resorts.
I do read political articles but generally decline to comment, keeping my views private.
In a shift from this I would like to say that Trump should be euthanized with immediate effect.
I suspect at this stage he’s just a pawn, but it’s not quite clear who is moving the pieces. He simply doesn’t seem clever or coherent enough to manage something of this magnitude alone.
They pay no import taxes on these small individual parcels, so it definitely is not an even playing field as against UK companies.
I understand that it stems from some outdated postal agreement which should be kicked into the long grass.
