Given the enemies, both in the US and abroad, this pair of idiots are making what are the chances of them surviving the next four years?

More to the point, what are the chances of any of us surviving the next four years?

We are just waiting to sell our RV van hopefully soon, and then prep our house for sale and start training our two golden retrievers to be crate trained for their cargo hold flight from Newark to ChasDeGaulle airport in Paris , where we’ll hop on the train South to Beziers and the next part of our lives.

No surprise here but look whose X account it comes from

One of the priorities of this administration on its path towards a single person/party ruled state, is to expand the powers of the executive branch of the government (presidential power) above the legislative and the judicial branches, thereby undoing the system of checks and balances that currently exist among these three separate but equal branches of government. Trump successfully subordinated the GOP side of congress during his 1st term, and given that they currently make up the majority both in the house and senate then he has effectively rendered the whole of congress mostly powerless. So, next is the judicial system, and not only did they come prepared for lawsuits, but given the sheer amount of illegal actions they’ve been taking, one would think the strategy may be to trigger them in mass so as to overwhelm both the Democrats and the legal system. And as to their response, Trump said recently that for now they are going to “respect the law,” which in Trump speak could mean first terrorizing the judges into submission etc. If not successful, my guess is that they came prepared to eventually challenge the Marbury v. Madison ruling of 1803 which held the Courts as the interpreter of the constitution, hence establishing that the Supreme Court has the power to determine the constitutionality and validity of the acts of the other two branches of government.

It would take a 3rd term to bugger America, a bit like 3 terms of conservatives in the UK. The rest of the world will the neccessary adjustments to ignore him. Probably cost us a bit more but with prices actually rising at about double what they claim onflation to be its a world of BS anyway.

FTFY

He’s targeting the IRS now - 7000 staff to go. All the better for his billionaire friends who don’t wish to pay tax.

Get on down to the Gaylord hotel, it’s all happening there. Shades of Rudy Giuliani’s Four Seasons Landscaping debacle.

A third term would require the repeal of the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution, for which there is a pretty high bar - it would need approval by both two thirds of members of Congress AND two thirds of all State Legislatures.

However, with the Supreme Court in his pocket Trump might perhaps be able to get them to rule that the 22nd Amendment is actually about regulating fisheries in Alaska and not what everyone else thinks it means…

What would happen then is anybody’s guess. We are a month in to this insanity and there is plenty of room for huge amounts of illegality, including Trump declaring himself World Emperor.

A little pushback. This would have been an impeachable act years ago.
