Following on from requests made by our generous members this time last year, I set up a donate facility via PayPal.
Paypal gives you the option to select recurring annual payments (for which we are incredibly grateful); however, I am fully aware that circumstances can change and a year is a long time. PayPal will simply take the payment without warning, a payment which you may have completely forgotten about having committed to. So I would just like to say that if you selected this option and you didn't actually mean to make that payment for whatever reason this time around, let me know and I will refund it for you.
Going forward, I have altered the way it works. You can now choose any amount you like and select whether or not to make it recurring.
And of course, if you haven't yet done so and you'd like to make a donation to help with the running costs and development of SFN, please hit the donate button button to the right of the screen.
We use Paypal to buy things from time to time but for payments for our gite we use World Pay, it is less well known than Paypal but it is very easy to use and we can speak to them directly and they are always helpful.
When the heartbleed virus was making the news my OH asked to speak to their technical people. Within two hours there was a 'phone call to let us know that their systems did not use the software in question and were safe.
WorldPay's origins were in RBS (it was sold off during the banking crisis) it is the system behind payment facilities on lots of websites. WorldPay do recurring payments too but I think they send a reminder before making the transaction.
Very happy to support SFN. It’s better than subscribing to a magazine…instant access to loads of knowledgable and helpful folk. What more can u ask for?
