Best known by me for her rôle in Till Death Us Do Part
Question: Isn’t it a bit early to be drinking…??
“No! I’m awake !” (One of my favourite lines by this great actress… )
Despite her being an octogenarian, I still picture her as a1960s ‘Mary Quant dolly bird’. Probably not allowed to use such terms now, so please think of it as an authentic historical reference to how young, fashionable women were described at the time.
Brother in Law still calls me his “favourite dolly bird”… on occasions… and I don’t feel the need to hit him…
Una was an amazing actress and I’m hoping some of her shows/films will be rerun as a tribute.
I really loved ‘till death’. Many people looked on it as racist, but it really wasn’t. Exactly the opposite. I knew Tony Booth in the last years of his life. He had dementia, but he was an absolute gem. He got through a few cats
She was brilliant in the Anniversary ep of Fawlty Towers too.
Didn’t meet her but I was sitting in the window of Wagamama in Piccadilly Circus and saw her enter an apartment across the road about ten years ago. Think that was her London pad
