I did do a 15 minute sitting in the chair one a while ago, it made me feel better but not better enough to stop me forgetting to do it for a while. Might take it up again once I get this current problem out of the way.
How are you feeling this morning, David?
About the same after an occasionally broken sleep night thank you. Rang the surgery and the doctor will come tomorrow morning. I see on the website that non of them do home visits on a Thursday.
Well, look after yourself until the doctor pops in tomorrow. Lots of hot tea.
I’ve never had a home visit from a doctor and am not even sure how I’d organise one. Certainly the days when you could waltz into our local surgery and see a doctor without an appointment are LONG gone. It’s by appointment only these days.
Quite the opposite here, though that was the way at our previous cabinet and very little waiting time, but at this one the without appointment sessions are a nightmare of waiting, as I mentioned before my record there was 2.5 hours.
Home visits have to be for a good reason, the normal doctor we have here insisted upon it for Fran after our first visit with her in a wheelchair. It was great because he dealt with me at the same time if needed at the normal rate, she, with ALD of course paid nothing.
No tea here, only water and coffee, plus a daily bowl of soup. but not much of that and my appetite has disappeared almost completely. I have lost 2 and a half kgs since Sunday morning.
Thats concerning
So I have been told but we are where we are and I don’t feel that much lighter. or look it.
Just checked on different scales, another kg since yesterday.
Careful swapping devices, our doctors practice has a scale and height and bp etc and it needs recalibrating as it reads 2.5kg light.
I only checked on the manual one because of your remark, I normally use a digital one in my bedroom as soon as I get out of bed every Sunday morning. Bought because it was easier to read.
Ok just checked on that one minus 0.4 since yesterday, 2.8 kgs since Sunday.
You seem quite active David with your cold swim and walking Jules etc so would you say you have been in a calorie deficit recently?
Wouldn’t have a clue, no idea how to measure such a thing. I haven’t eaten normally since Monday, nor swam or walked, simply because have felt so lousy. I have been on a gentle downward spiral since leaving hospital because of cutting down on things I love like sugar, butter and salt (your favourite) but this is a bit dramatic I must admit. I am down about 5.6 kgs since before the heart attack.
Well take it easy and do eat something even if you don’t really feel like it - I am no doctor but although many of us could probably do with being lighter, I’m sure that rapid weight loss is not good.
I’ve been aiming to lose some weight and have downsized by 9.3 kilos but that’s over the last 3 years… slow and steady is the way to go!
Nothing wrong with good butter, contains essential fats. Margerine, run away from it.
Lurpak.
If anyone knows of a French equivalent I am all ears.
Never mind, I found a thread: https://www.survivefrance.com/t/butter-lurpak/

Its your call Chris but not for me.
Lurpak butter is produced by Arla Foods, and Arla is involved in trials of the feed additive Bovaer,
Haven’t seen marge for years, does it appear in France under the same name, or what? What I buy, much less of now though, is labelled Auchan Beurre Tendre Doux, and the main ingredient seems to be Matieres Grasse.
Doesn’t necessarily mean they put it in Lurpak though. ![]()
I’m OK with Président beurre demi-sel as an alternative.
It’s actually a French invention,
After the French Emperor Napoleon III issued a challenge to create a butter-substitute from beef tallow for the armed forces and lower classes, Hippolyte Mège-Mouriès invented margarine in 1869.
Available at Intermarché according to my handy app, and no doubt elsewhere as well.
But I am in agreement with Lord @Corona on this, stick to butter. I used to eat marge thinking it was lower in calories but butter (in sensible moderation) is a better bet, all natural ingredients.
