Signs of Spring 2020?

Reminds me of an old seaside postcard. A photographer with an ancient wooden camera on a tripod, complaining that the subjects kept moving around. “Every time I focus down, you focus up!”

No photos… but we have been seeing clouds of insects wafting around … about 6 ft above the ground… looks a bit like a cloud of greenfly… that sort of thing (not that I am saying they are greenfly of course)… its the sort of insect cloud that the swallows and swifts would have a wonderful time munching through… but we have not got those birds just yet.

Just wondering if this means we will have a plague of insects this summer, since this lot have obviously not been killed by frosts etc as the weather has not been sufficiently cold for long enough…and they will presumably be multiplying… :thinking: :anguished:
