will do Brian...stand out in your garden and wave will you...I will be checking!
That is great Keith. I remember introducing my babies to my nan....she was brilliant with my children and lived for 11 years after my first baby was born; she spent a lot of time with us all.
Yes Angela! arrived stupidly early as the last couple of times Ive flown out, my train via Newbury was cancelled and I made it by the skin of my teeth...so today I get to spend a whole 3 hours and 10 minutes here....great. Already been patted down going through customs...and they are doing some sort of repairs here...drills going off and deafening us all...not a great experience...but hey ho....not long to go now! Are you picking your husband up?
When you're circling to land put your hands over your ears. I'll be shouting 'Welcome back' as you go over chez moi.
Are you on the Bergerac flight Carol? If so my husband is on that flight too! Apparently there is nothing to smile about with the weather! ps weather here sunny today
Im at Stanstead and I am really trying to smile Nick....there seem to be a few thousand people milling around and it is very grey outside...but I am coming back to France...so will try cracking a smile (has the weather improved at all?)
I was mighty suspicious when I was given lots of smiles at the garage I had to go to earlier because of my tyres. The woman in the office gave me lots of smiles!
Mmm thinking about that one. Other countries manage it, thought it was part of the job description in France - smile and you lose your bonus. On the other hand service with a smile in the small local shops is exemplary as in our local DIY shop, market traders etc. It may be a mundane job but it's a job.
Guess what, I at least am happy that a freak wind has moved the dish that receives French TV. So had a look at Nick's link having not seen it before.
So does the fact that both of my front tyres went whilst taking the girls to school this morning and having to part with a load of dosh this afternoon for the new ones? Smile? Be happy about that? Which position am I in the queue to slap the man's stupid head? That may just give me a happy moment.
no, they are excused such pleasantries tho' it can't be easy being nice to customers all day long in such a mundane job or am I wrong ?
I can think of more interesting jobs to be involved in.
I have to say the ladies in our local CPAM are brilliant - always with a smile despite some of the tough cases they meet on a daily basis
Does this apply to all check out operators in French supermarkets?
as the actress said to the bishop.....................
oh bugger... :)
They don't come out any more, I've got screw ins now
Hi Sarah, it's today now as I wrote the post last night.
Apparently it takes less muscles to smile than to make a grimace so smiling should be a doddle ! Just as it is easier to be pleasant than to be agresssive so I try to be happy and smiley everyday despite how crap I may be feeling - oh and do us a favour Nick, don't forget to put your teeth in first mate !
Good thing it's Saturday and one can stay at home and avoid workmates then innit!
The advert is pretty good!
Is this one of those occasions when things are really bad, especially for the unemployed, and getting worse because of government policies, that they are foisting this joy day on us to remind us to count our blessings however bad it gets? Bollocks I say (if I can).
Just got to love this advert:
