Hello all, just wanted to know if solar panels increase the taxe of the property and is there any incentives for using solar panels such as grants or discount in taxe. I am new property owner so just trying to make a plan of how I will be powering the property as I would like to go “off grid”.
That’s good because I didn’t declare them.
Not to worry, the DGSI will have spotted them from space with their surveillance satellite. ![]()
Do I have to get permission to have them installed?
We got our solar panels from EdF. They did a planning application to our mairie for us and said we’d have approval within a couple of months, which we did. I think it was possibly before that.
They can’t see mine so I didn’t ask. Can imagine batiment de France and quite frankly not interested in what they say.
Yes. They generally need a Declaration Preamble.
There’s an exemption for ground mounted systems - but no more than 3kW power (6 panels) and they have to less than 1.8 m high . But otherwise yes they need a DP.
Most installers sort it as part of the process - maybe for an extra fee. They should certainly be able to help if needed with the forms.
High time that was overhauled, although France seems fairer with pricing than the UK more should be done for self generation
Damn you autocorrect!
But it’s not that bad a translation!
