Should get you to a link to this offer
Thank you, Jane. I subscribed and left a note to self in calendar re cancelling 48 hours before auto renewal. A year should be time enough to tell.
“Quality journalism”, not since a long time unfortunately
My wife has a monthly subscription to Readly which has hundreds of well known magazines and newspapers (Independent, Guardian, Express. Mirror etc) in many languages. It is staggeringly cheap for what is on offer.
Current offer is to be able to try it for 2 months for free:
Am I wrong in thinking that The Times is part of Murdoch’s empire. One good reason for not signing up if it is.
The Times is just another right wing rag. Used to be a decent newspaper.
The french version still covers all the 8000 magazines and is cheaper.
It is but in several ways is also interesting as a social barometer. Makes a contrast with my usual news fodder, which is quite left wing. Reading between the different lines is sport.
I like the Times Luxury section for the same voyeuristic enjoyment I get watching The Paris Agency (Kretz) on Netflix. I will never experience these things in real life but nor will I be experiencing the wild and woolly voyages on Nat Geo.
Financial Times How To Spend It is good!
I was quite pleasantly surprised that my FT account from work is still active.
The Thunderer’s slide downhill/down market began when they replaced society advertisements on the front page with news - bah!
I saw this topic and decided rather than subscribe £1 per month to read the Times a better option would be for others to read it who are then likely to post the article or opinion of it on here, if it is any good.
My would be donation is now with SF which is the source of so much more information, and some, that the Times could possibly offer me.
You have to email to cancel if you are overseas. They then write back offering you an extended deal or similar. You can then accept that. Or wait a week and take up the offer of the day which is £1 per month or £1 for 6 months! Meant to be new subscribers only but they don’t enforce it. All a bit crazy.
But John Scully is on a break, and that’s his forté
But surely only the Guardian?
