Storing pool cover on the roller

Rolling up my summer cover to store for the winter it will be wet. i have seen an ad for a cover for the roller that will be ok for winter outside. But the cover will be wet when it’s rolled up! what are they talking about?

Normally its UV degredation and without the cover being on water it can create hot spots that can cause the bubbles to expand and burst.

Hello there corona john, but i have to take the summer cover away during the winter…these people, “bache piscines” say their bachette can stay on the roller all winter… some have suggested I take it off and dry it with a hair dryer or leaf blower…I’d just leave it on under the leaf catching net but am worried about a frost…oh hell it’s all so complicated. My vet takes hers with roller to the barn and stands it on end and says it drains. she has a hefty husband to lift it.

Hmm aint life exciting! what can you suggest.? I’ll have to rope in a mate to help lift the damn thing on it’s roller…aieee.

We used to leave ours covered, wet, on the roller over winter. Never saw any damage and it used to get very cold.

To make it easier to get the winter cover on (on my own), I would put it on top of the bache a bulles, then roll it out from under the winter cover.

well that sounds encouraging. I thought it might all get mouldy

The filtration goes all winter, not a lot, and the pool has a fine leaf net over it. I want to avoid drying the cover with a hairdryer! and carting it to the barn for the mice to use. I have a large piece of winter cover which would cover the roller and bubble cover easily. do I make sense?
