Study on dogs and human aging

Hello,

I just read this article on a study of how our pet dogs can show parallels between their experiences with health issues and aging in our homes, alongside their owners.

Dr. Daniel Promislow on the NIH-supported Dog Aging Project

Since dogs’ lives are so much shorter than their human owners’ lives, longevity studies of their health over their lives can show results faster than the ongoing studies of aging humans.

Interesting but I knew it could not be for me, even before I got to the end and he mentioned puppies. All my dogs have come here in at least ‘middle age’ so hardly useful for such a study.

All power to his elbow though, I am sure it will be very useful.
