I’ve heard it said - maybe Tim Keller - that American Christianity is divided politically, so that the Republicans concentrate on justice and the Democrats on grace. Whereas, as you say, Jesus personified love, which is both justice and grace.

I was born in a British colony…know a bit about that. My dad was a top colonial administrator. As I’m past my biblical span, I have no desire to extend my footprint on the Earth by treading further over it. I built a sailing boat, I can voyage anywhere in that, but like some voyagers, I have few destinations I want to visit. We just like sailing to gently engage in a natural environment free of people (mostly). Call it dogmatic, I don’t care.
We know air travel is extremely damaging and I don’t use air travel.
Returning to USA. There you have 77 million people who collaborated with a criminal known psychopath who is hastening our destruction. I have no desire to be anywhere near them.

Considering one of trumps, publicly stated, reasons for starting a war in Iran was because, they execute people does this mean the rest of the world can bomb America

That’s a fair summary, and I’ve known a few from both sides. There IS a middle group too, but they tend to not shout so much and are often overlooked, as well as struggling for air at times.
Traditional Christianity has often not recognised or explained a difference between old and new testaments, and that’s made the message VERY confused indeed.

I think a public execution is a very good way to create a new martyr to the cause, whatever the cause may be, with an exceptionally useful piece of footage to be exploited in the furtherance of that cause.
It seems to be fairly standard short-term thinking by elements of the Trump regime, with no consideration of unintended consequences.

Meat production is more damaging to the environment than all forms of transport combined. So i presume you are also a vegan.
I heard one of his victims at the army base talking on R4 this morning about it. He was shot seven times because he played dead but managed to survive but his comrades did not and none of them were armed as it was not necessary on this base. He said that a live execution in his mind is sick entertainment and should not be seen by the public and as you say, it would create a new martyr to that horrible cause.

Everyone I met there was lovely, a lot more friendlier than people down here in the SW. Unfortunately one lunatic with some hangers-on does not speak for the majority and unless you have been there as Gus says and met folks, don’t judge them all the same, they aren’t!

Yes, but the other 2/3 couldn’t be arsed to get up off the couch and vote for the other candidate, who actually could and did fog a mirror, and stop the insanity that we knew was coming.
We all got a very good look at what Trump 2.0 was going to look like after the 2020 election when he installed all his cronies as acting secretaries etc, and those people were a magnitude better than the people running the circus now.
My very best friend was one of them. Wasn’t sure he could vote for a Democrat. Didn’t vote so he couldn’t be blamed for whatever happened, he said. Well, our friendship cooled after that.

But Biden didn’t help matters.
Yes, thanks for correcting my math, but the point is we have this tiny minority of assholes who got their way and could have easily been stopped by the majority of sane people who were either too lazy or just too picky;

They would have been just fine with Harris. She was the conservative candidate that would have accomplished nothing significant.

It would not be normal for soldiers to be armed on bases .. arms would be handed out when going to the range and handed back to the armory before going to quarters . Only those on active sentry duty armed..
I eat very little meat actually. On my own I never eat it. There’s always someone wanting to deflect, and in this case, it’s you 
. I have a developed view of sustainable farming, however, which does include animals in some situations, but this is drifting away from the business of the barbarian USA.
