Hi - can anyone recommend someone to visit and keep a small overground pool cleaned and maintained between April and September please? Ideally I’d like an ad hoc arrangement as I’ll be away from the house more than at it during spring and summer. Many thanks
Do you have a winter cover you could put back on whilst away? That could save a whole lot of hassle.
I’ll probably do that as well but it is the cleaning and refilling etc I’m hoping to get help with
Providing your cover is not the mesh type, you wont have any issues with cleaning, refilling as evaporation would be close to nil as any water would mostly condense on the inside of the cover and drop back in. If its a dark coloured cover chlorine loss would also be minimal. The small amount of fine dirt that get through the cover is easily vacuumed on your return. My pool is cleaned and put away in September and stays closed until May/June the following year.
In case you’ve not thought about it… might be an idea to check water restrictions in your area (especially re Pools).
Something came up on one of the french news feed things on my PC earlier about higher taxes on all swimming pools that cannot be dismantled and put away. A figure per m2 of the pool was mentioned and its all pools including the tiny ones.
Thats always been the case Shiba.
My neighbours installed the minimum before taxes but now it seems even those are going to be subject to a charge and anything that is fixed and cannot be taken apart so that maybe includes those wooden surround ones and big plastic shells. It has to be declared in this years Impôts return according to the article if you have something that is not a blow up/self supporting above ground type.
I suspect this is a follow on from the last few years where the authorities have found over 200,000 undeclared swimming pools The minimum for any pool that is not temporary is a Déclaration Préalable , this results in an increase in the Taxe foncière. There is also a development tax that is now charged for things such as new pools, parking areas etc.
