If you move to a different mobile network and retain your number, is the process automatic - in other words does your original provider close your account, or do you need to tell them to do it, even though your number has been successfully transferred (and is being used on the ne network)?
It’s an automatic process
OK, thanks - we switched from Bouygues to Orange but seem to still be being charged by Bouygues. The switch was about a month ago.
Took me 3 months to finally shake myself free of SFR’s shackles.
I moved from SFR to Orange Sosh and the whole process was absolutely seamless, and ended up with far better general coverage - very pleased.
I have a question about this. I have an Orange contract at the moment for my internet conection and two mobile phones. When I look on the Orange site for changing my forfait, it displays the Sosh forfaits as well. In fact it says that my current mobile forfaits are for Sosh (which they aren’t).
If I look at the Sosh site having logged off from Orange, I can see that they offer a lot of forfaits. However, having admitted to Sosh that I currently have an Orange contract, the options available magically reduce to the very few expensive ones quoted by Orange.
Does this mean that the only way I can get an appropriate mobile forfait is by abandoning the idea of going with Sosh and moving to a completely different provider? (I liked the look of Sosh before I got in this muddle…)
That’s really odd, have you got any further? Can you just order your new forfait on Sosh’s site, and put in your number to be ported??
Unfortunately no! Sosh and Orange seem to be so linked at the hip you can’t start again
I am looking at other options, even if temporary.
By the way - how are you feeling?
This seems very discriminatory and doesn’t sound legal to me, unless it’s buried somewhere in the Orange terms. Perhaps a call to a human being at Sosh might be worth a try.
I was forced to do the same several years back. Had to go via a different network.
I’m glad I’m not the only one @KarenLot !
I agree it seems discriminatory @Nunthewiser - once this week is over (my goodness it’s been hectic lately) I shall try ringing Sosh to see what’s possible.
Tired but no more fevervect, thanks
