Tax Declaration 2022 for Worldwide Income 2021

useful information @anon37731102 thanks.

I wondered that too… but perhaps best never to assume…

Thank you Peter for these. Any ideas where I can find download for 2047K ?

Thanks @anon37731102 We’ll look at this later today. :+1:

https://www.impots.gouv.fr/formulaire/2047/declaration-des-revenus-encaisses-letranger

There is no 2047K; the K just referred to the printed version.

There are copies of the forms in Brochure Pratique 2022

and specifically the 2047

Thank you both.

As the phone hasn’t stopped ringing and I’m running out of steam… please can someone put me out of my misery and tell me how to find the Average Exchange Rate for £ to € to cover income received in 2021 ???

Do so… and you will have a friend for life… if that isn’t tooo scary.

@Stella take your pick…

Just change the reference dates to suit.

Having done the calculation… and come up with our Worldwide Income figures… it’s quite a shock to realize that our income dropped by about 600 euros over the 12 month period… due to currency fluctuations.

Ah well, just have to pretend we went on a short-break… I do hope we enjoyed ourselves…

I was going to say that doesn’t sound right as the rate went up more or less all through 2021 - then realised you meant your 2021 calc was 600 less than the 2020 figure.

But that still doesn’t make sense to me as the eurobank average for all of 2020 is 1.248 and it’s 1.163 - so 2021 was still up on 2020?

Just curious?

Yep… it is curious… so I shall double check my figures. But I do remember mumbling curses whenever I noted my pension payment was down on its “usual”… and that happened more than once… so who knows.

Ah, Perhaps you are using the “declare the actual euro’s received into the france bank account” method !

The majority of our income comes direct to our French account… it’s only a smidge which is paid in UK (£)

EDIT: Panic over… I’ve double checked (with my glasses on this time) and had missed a figure. Phew… that’s better… not a lot… but enough.

Thanks for posting that - I’m particularly interested in the other bit as well - “use revenue corresponding to the UK tax year” coz I’m weighing up how to assess the UK rental income to declare. I’ve got a loss for UK 20-21 and 21-22 will be a profit to declare. So had in mind to hold off declaring [edit] the loss in france 2021 and declare the UK assessed assessed profit 21-22 on the 2022 return next year. [which will include the previous year loss]

Makes calculation easy - but when I asked how to do this, forum members all said they do / maintain two calcs one for france, one for UK. Obviously stick to the same approach going forward…

Just wondering what the source of the screenshot was? Though happy for any more comments on approaches to declaring UK rent as well.

If you are referring to the post above this one (97) the source is moi. I wrote it from information generally available elsewhere and from the Fisc.
Is there some fault with the reference?

As for the disparity between UK and French tax return periods, you are quite rioght, you should not mix and match year on year. It is of course preferable to align the two periods - ie the UK one to the French perhaps given your French residency but that would require some simple maths to achieve and once its done (perhaps in a spreadsheet) maintaining the information thereafter should not present a problem. The same rules apply to the UK pension payments cycle and the Fisc are quite content with that and understand the issue (can’t speak for HMRC of course).

No probs at all with the reference thanks - just checking!

As for me, because I have lots of UK earnings for 2021 (lucky me but it doesn’t feel like it with the stress) it’s probably more beneficial to use the HMRC year figures - I haven’t done the maths though as tons of work and little time…

So good to have your reminder to focus on the deadlines!
