Tax D'Habitation Due Date

I got my bill last week. It was slightly up on last year, but only a very small increase! I pay monthly.

Hi
I registered to pay all my taxes and declarations on-line, so I get a notification when the tax is due, pay it immediately - it is only taken 2 or 3 days after the due date - and forget about it.

One benefit is that you can log on and see what payments are due and outstanding - it is all very painless.

Not sure why some are reporting payments in November but maybe the payment dates are different in different departments.

ps They do not give you any notification at all that you do not owe anything......so you panic that the paperwork has been lost in the post and you will be fined for non-payment.

Taxe d'Habitation is always due mid December. A couple of years ago we did not receive one and our accountant looked into it for us. It turned out that as we were residents, my husband is over 60 and we had a very low income (and no TV) we did not have to pay at all.

Hi Jo,

Have you checked the tax d'habitation statement you received, the date should be on there but the deadline was the 17 November 2014 and was prolonged by 5 days; 22 November 2014 (midnight) if paid on the internet.

If you agreed to pay by direct debit, you should have seen the payment go out the 27 November.

To note; A late payment charge of 10% is normally levied.

Our main house is paid by prelevement on 27th Dec and the secondaire is due 15th as we pay on line. So I guess it depends on your method of payment, we have not received the bill by snail mail but got an email to say we can view it on line at http://www.impots.gouv.fr in mon espace

@peter has a point. If you declare works are continuing you may not receive a bill.

Maybe you are not liable to the T d'H for whatever reason ?

I was not liable this year exceptionally and so never received a bill.

We always get ours in October, to be paid by mid November.

It is my understanding that the Taxe d'Habitation demands are phased according to whether your house is a Primary or Secondary home. Mine is a secondary, and, although the document was dated 30th October, I received the demand (in the UK) about the 3rd week in November for payment by 15th December.

We also pay in one lump sum and are only part time in France. Mine is due 15/12/14 this year. I would have thought you should have received it by now. We didn't get ours last year and had to visit the tresor publique in the end to discover they had sent it to Ireland for some reason? So I would continue to chase it up.

We only received ours last week but pay monthly, so not a concern for us.

Mine is due 15th Dec. But, only rec'd bill a week ago.

15 December definitely. Even if you don’t get a bill, its your responsibility to ask for it. And pay it.

There is effectively some confusion about this. We received ours early October with paymeny date 15th December. Since we received it I've seen notices in the local paper saying effectively mid-November. However it firmly says on my bill "15/12/14" so I'm sticking to that. We pay all our impôts et taxes online, saves having to go to the Perception where it's difficult to park :)
