Tax reminders

Hi all
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or if we’ve just been ‘missed’…
We’ve been submitting our french tax returns on paper for the last 19 years. Last year we submitted our main tax return on paper as usual, but we had an MSA section to complete that could only be done online.

This year we didn’t receive our paper returns to fill in, and after speaking to french colleagues at work in the second week of may, we realised that we’d been switched to online - basically once one bit has been done online, everything goes online, apparently.

I understand why the government are keen to get everybody online (although this will be very difficult for some), but the bit I don’t understand is why we’ve had no reminders, notifications or warnings. We’ve literally had NOTHING to tell us that we need to submit online, and NOTHING to remind us that our tax returns are due. I check my junk mail everyday, so that’s not the problem.
Has anybody else had the same experience of not being reminded, or have we just been missed when it comes to notifications and reminders?

Do the impots have your email address? There was a section on the paper form to put it in. If they have, then there’s normally just a generic email saying that the online portal is open.

Yes, they have our email addresses and phone numbers, which is why I’m surprised that we’ve had nothing.
Luckily we checked the deadline yesterday for our declarations, and our dept needs to be in by today!

I think like everything else important here, the onus is on the individual to check what has to be done and when etc.

There has been massive publicity in the last few years about the move to online tax declarations. Apart from those who attest to this being impossible due to age, lack of computer, and unable to use keyboard.

You know you have to submit a return and the onus is on you to check how to do this, the deadlines and so on. We have never been contacted by impôts with reminders in 20 years!
