Taxe foncière bills issued (online) from today

Yes, positive, as I previously completed one of the declaration forms (H1??).

That’s about right, over the years I have heard a lot of people imagining it’s a lot more.

A few months back I read in one of my french news feeds that the fisc were considering taxing pools by the m3 water they held and whether or not they were permanent fixtures, i.e. not a freestanding above ground Intex type which can be put away. Now, the inlaws of my son down the road from me pay a lot of money for a 9 x 4m inground pool, at least €600/year or more on top of their TF. You don’t want a nasty catch up surprise so I would get it in writing if I were you.

Yes I had it in writing as a message response to my message sent on the tax website requesting a value for the pool - still can’t believe it actually. Makes me wonder what else drives my tax foncieres so high!

Rubbish collection? My TF has a good chunk charged for weekly door to door collection of bins plus fortnightly recycling bins.

Back with mobile connection:grin: possibly, and will check when I eventually get back home :+1::+1:

Talking of increases, I was just looking at the detail of mine.

2025 - TdH 999€ - TdF 758€ - total 1757€
2024 - TdH 893€ - TdF 726€ - total 1619€
2023 - TdH 824€ - TdF 698€ - total 1522€
2022 - TdH 717€ - TdF 616€ - total 1333€

31% hike since 2022, compared with about 12% general inflation since then :frowning:

Refuse about ~ 190€ on top (that bill is still paper so I’d have to check when I get back to the UK what the exact amount was).

I imagine ours here in the Uk will be a much bigger rise, with more to come

Will have a little look at ours, still better than the UK as they love to waste our money with little accountability it seems.

Could that have anyrhing to do with taxe d’habitation disappearing aroind the same time for most people? I am not sure who got the taxe d’habitation money - if same as taxe foncière or not.

Possibly - TdH went up more than TdF, as a percentage, 2023-4 (8.4% vs 4%) and 2024-2025 (11.8% vs 4.4%).

I think they are similar - TdH is spent on local level stuff and TdF on municipal level stuff (according to Google’s AI).
