You may want to double check for overlap, so to speak
I can second the only two mentions of Normandy beaches but in fact most of the west coast of the Cotentin peninsula is beautiful - particularly the section between the power station and the nuclear reprocessing plant 
(Seriously,it is!)

They missed my old region by not mentioning the far west of Bretagne -lands end,where you often don’t see a soul at all, the sand is white in many places and the sea turquoise and I was always collecting the bright yellow shells that wash over from the Carribean. Leucate is the nearest to me with Colioure the other side and I would say neither in my opinion are quiet really. What one person defines a thing by, others will always disagree although I do know the Crozon ones but they can get a bit packed in summer.

It’s worth remembering that there are often “secret” areas, just that bit too far for the everyday tourist to walk…
So many will be content to find a nice bit of beach and settle themselves down, provided it’s not too crowded… and yet, a mile or two , further there might not be a single soul

Reminds me of a tale of my son and his friend at our village beach previously whereby access to an isolated stretch of sand was only by boat or by climbing downthe cliff and using a piece of knotted rope. My son being a tall well built lad followed his friend down and next thing the rope snapped and he rolled right down on top of a family having a picnic lunch and squashed their food under himself. We laugh about it all the time but it was a lovely place until a pervert exposed himself to a local who got the flics there and he was arrested.
