To be fair had Corbyn got off the fence he’d have been on the Eurosceptic side.
Mark Francois was threatening the MOD procurement with Cummings the other day.
Far too late. There have been problems with Ministers wanting the impossible and civil servants too frightened to say no. I know that this exists in other Ministries, but the lead time for defence projects is much longer for most other departments. Different governments come in and change things and the UK is left hanging in the balance regarding its defence.
Even now with Keir Starmer doing a good job imo as opposition leader I don’t think it is even possible to have a sensible.conversation about the EU in large parts of the UK. Having been drip fed anti EU propaganda and the BBC not debating robustly with the public enough I am not sure a significant part of the population realise what they are losing. I am not even sure there is the will to hold this government to account for the woeful Corona virus response.
I think you mentioned recently that this government is trying to beat everyone down with their awful behaviour. People do need to mobilise to stop the world feeling like a black mirror episode.
Yeah but…that would have made all the gammons vote to remain as they hate Corbyn even more than those dirty foreigners…
Reverse psychology eh? Clever
As I have said before, all the idiots with large car plants voted to leave, what can you do with turkeys who vote for Christmas!
I’d say “break out the cranberry sauce” but the turkeys in question did not just vote for Christmas for themselves but for all of us to be plucked, trussed, stuffed and put on a plate.
You don’t sound to be a very nice person. The vote was taken by the people that live in the UK in the hope that things they didn’t like about the EU would change. Any one that left the UK to make a life in one of the countries of the EU did that because they thought it was best for them. Perhaps that is the same thinking of those that voted to leave.
Now I will sit back and wait for the abuse that seems to be directed at anyone who doesn’t agree with their views on Brexit and who look on those that voted to leave as “xenophobic, racist and ignorant British people”
Keith, you have just opened up a can of worms.
somewhat like you then about people who don’t agree with your point of view…
Oh, and by the way, Izzy is a very nice person IMO and certainly not deserving of your ill advised venomous remarks about her. Don’t forget, she is, like you, entitled to her viewpoint on Brexshit.
BTW, did you leave the UK for Tarn et Garonne (82) for the same purpose?
Irene,
Can I just remind you of your post earlier on where you described the Brits that voted to leave as xenophobic, racists and ignorant.
HAHAHAHAHAHA™@vero
Didn’t you give me the impression thatyou hadn’t got a very keen sense of humour, Paul?
That’s exactly the point. We came here because we were Europeans and had freedom of movement by right. So are you surprised that we feel betrayed, losing that right along with our European citizenship, having not even been allowed to vote in the referendum?
Yes, sometimes we get angty at the stupidity and wastefulness of the whole business.
… but I didn’t call anyone rascist, xenophobic or ignorant. I just said she didn’t sound nice, hardly venomous. I left the UK more than 20 years ago and as such am happy for the people that live there to make their own futures, after all they are the ones that have to deal with it in their everyday lives.
Stop digging a bigger hole Elizabeth,
nor did Izzy which is why your post saying she didn’t sound nice was venomous and probably is in breach of the t&cs so I’d advise you to do the honest thing and moderate the post yourself.
Unfortunately there is evidence that many (not all, please note) who voted Leave were also xenophobic - and that the Leave campaign gave licence to that xenophobia - there has been a marked increase in racially motivated and hate crime since the referendum - so I’m afraid the view that those who voted Leave have a leaning towards racism and xenophobia is accurate, of that there should be no doubt.
As to ignorant - well, using this word in its proper sense of lacking knowledge racism and xenophobia do tend to be more prevalent amongst those of lower intelligence and scholastic achievement. Such individuals are much more likely to take a headline in the Express that (for example) the EU were going to ban playgrounds (not true) at face value than to research the story to see what it is about - so they were ignorant regarding the EU and did nothing to relieve themselves of that ignorance.
So, err, racist, xenophobic and ignorant seems to sum quite a lot of Leave voters up nicely I’m afraid.
Very adult.
The fact that you can’t be bothered to rebuke the points that I just made but go straight for an ad hominem attack speaks volumes, I’m afraid.
perhaps you will do the adult thing and moderate your post as I asked?
It wasn’t very adult what that poster (to which @anon88169868 refers) wrote about @cat to her husband was it?
