I don’t normally like new R4 news comedies because they usually use people who think they’re much funnier than they are.
But TNW is shaping up to be very funny, and to have its own identity.
After a bit of a dip some years ago I think Andy Zaltzman and his guests these days can be, more often than not, very funny. I’ll give TNW a listen.

I 100% agree. It took a few episodes to find it’s feet in it’s first series but is now up there with TNQ. The now classic ‘The News in Haikus’ was especially good on 21/11/2025.
Dare I say that despite it’s generally excellent impersonations Dead Ringers last series wasn’t up to it’s normal level.

TNW is hosted by Andrew Hunter Murray and I agree is very good but sometimes sails a bit close to the wind in a legal sense. But, I used to listen to a podcast some years ago called ‘No Such Thing As A Fish’ and he was one of the least outrageous of the team so I was a bit surprised when first heard this. They all arose out of QI as elves.
