The Northern Ireland Unionists’ latest dilemma ⚽️

Politics is important, but maybe not as important as footy… A tough call :joy:

I realise Irish Rangers fans (and indeed Rangers fans in general) may not be that bright, but couldn’t they have requested a postal vote?

And in any case, Rangers are very unlikely to progress further in the Europa League…

If you’re not a serious football fan you wouldn’t understand, being at the game is all that matters especially a European SF.

I do find it hard to believe that the numbers travelling to Glasgow from NI for the game will affect the election result as the ground only holds 46000 for home supporters most of whom live in Scotland or England.

As we have all witnessed, there are those that will always vote one way or the other in elections or referenda, it’s the few percent in the middle that make the difference.

Having listened for decades to fanatical Unionist politicians ranting about the primacy of the “Union”, it’s laughable that SF may become the largest party in the NI Assembly not, as predicted, through fecundity but because of a football match.

Neither the match nor the election make any difference to me one way or the other but I’ll watch the attendance and the election results with interest.
