It’s toxic and, what’s more, it’s ineffective: the fungal spores will remain in the cracks in the wall and will even be fed by the moisture in the product. Damn Dracula !
Our last house had crépi that collected algae, especially the bottom couple of feet of the walls. When there wasn’t a hosepipe ban it came off fine with water sprayed from a Karcher. A man turned up one day when OH was on his own and before he could stop him, sprayed a square of the house wall with some product to show how clean it could be. It smelled terrible and made your eyes sting, needless to say the man didn’t get the gig.
Many crépi-ed houses in Brittany had red stains eventually appear which was an algae. However it was determined that the algae came from using unwashed sand direct from dredging or the local beaches. OH only used washed sand from the quarry when he collected it for rendering etc and had to repair many gable ends where the algae had in fact leeched water into the walls and into the property. No amount of bleach killed it either and the best cure was to re-do the rendering then re-crepi
There are lots of door-to-door salespeople offering this sort of façade treatment (and roof moss removal), and they all use products that are extremely polluting. It really upsets me

It seems to be forming just south of me in Cholet and then blowing off to the northeast. Frustrating.
If it takes 8 days to shift 8 blocks 100 metres, how long would it take to move 9 blocks?
Answer: 8 days and a heart attack.

At the vet clinic again for my cat’s blood test, but for one reason or another had to wait an hour + before my cat’s blood could be drawn. However, the clinic was so cool I didn’t mind waiting. Wonderful. Left feeling like a new man. First time in a long time I’d experienced such a deliciously cool temperature – a rarity these days!
Blood test results were good.

I find I enjoy supermarket shopping at the moment - I stroll round in a leisurely fashion and linger over open fridges and freezers.

Update at 22.30hrs. We’ve just had a torrential downpour. Our yard was flooded but looking at it now, the water has all gone away. Let’s hope it’s gone into our well to help with the level. Wonderful thunder and lightning but our cats literally jumped out of their skin when we had the biggest clap of thunder I have ever heard. Poor little babies ….. But the rain/thunder/lightning has gone away now so they can sleep in peace.
And it’s much cooler too - 17.6c outside temperature. 20.8mm rain and only 30c forecast for tomorrow. At the moment, I am a happy bunny but there’s plenty of time for me to start moaning again …..

Lovely! Wasn’t much over 30 today, what a relief! I happily kept working outside until about 1.30pm. Had to get the coop all sorted as I’m picking up 6 rescue hens from Bergerac at 8am tomorrow!!! 
Tonight feels cool outside, really hoping thses cooler nights will drop the house temps, never seen it at 26/7 c in our bunker living / kitchen, certainly not for this extended period.

I’ll take over from you. Here in eastern central Cholet almost nothing. East of us, lots of rain, even the southern side of town got it, but zip here. Cooled off though.
Lidl last week were so fogged up you had to open all the cold sections to see what was in there the doors were so steamed up
Moan, moan, moan is what we British do where the weather is concerned! Woke up in the middle of the night feeling cold enough to pull over a blanket, but what I’m moaning about is the humidity, 75% indoors, and temps forecast to be in the 30s for days to come! Moan!
Actually a lot of French moan too, they just do it a bit more subtle
@toryroo - do you give your chooks names - my friend has six and they are called Rhubarb & Custard, Fred & Ginger and Bonny & Clyde.
