The weather!

Thunderstorms here in Sud Charente. It’s been raining for all of 20 minutes and now the sky is beginning to clear. Not enough!

We probably had about the same, perhaps a bit longer, it was very soft to start with and I was determined to finish planting my 24 lettuces! Was sopping when I came in and actually felt cold for the first time in months!

Thunder early this morning in D17 arrived and went away after about 2 hours of rain, and a few hours later is back again with more rain.
It’s noisy here with crackling thunder, sometimes rattling the windows.

We’ve also had thunder, more than rain!

Up in the cold wet north it’s currently 32c with not a sign of rain

Muggier and muggier here in the Centre of the early South. Yet it won’t break and no sign of the hours of rain we are promised.

Apparently since mid May we’ve had a block of air sitting above us getting hotter and hotter that juat refuses to move over and let some other weather move in. When it does move, I gather we’ll land up with a freezing cold winter.

Sounds just like down here in coastal 66. The mossies are really out in force at the moment biting everyone and the heat is so heavy really late at night and early dawn too. Supposed to go and watch a Monster Trucks show later but have decided I don’t want to be on the menu. No rain nor storms again that were forecast and everyone is wary of fires even more

Thunder. Not a drop of rain. :sob:

It is a lovely evening here, driven out of the living room by the frequently cutting out satellite signal I am in the kitchen with a window and the back door wide open which causes a glorious cool breeze to flow through. Just hope my lights don’t bring any insects in out of the light rain.

Lightning too but by the thunder I judge the storm to be at least 20 kms away. Once I have finished on here I might try some You Tube as it probabl;y isn’t affected. :joy:

Wow, a jagged bright flash just now, probably 11 kms away to the south east. The clouds I can see seem to be slowly moving northwards so I am hoping it will skirt us while showering it’s bounty on the way.

The forecast for today said 100% thunderstorms and then rain 98% chance for about 3 hours. Guess what - nothing at all. Not one little drop. Disappointed or wot ?

We got a bit of a deluge, will check the rain gauge in the morning. Looked like a huge storm heading nirh but passing to the east of us which is so weird!

I think we’re North East of you Toryroo and it’s been raining since 9pm Monday. Lots of thunder and a light show. We arrived Saturday to find almost all the potted plants were brown and crispy. I’ be cut them a!l back to what I hope are viable buds.4 roses are now hard stems. Will they recover who knows?

It started with a few spots and was so warm that I did a little (enthusiastic) rain-dance yesterday… and it felt grand…
Huh.. then the skies opened and I got thoroughly soaked… struggled back down the road and I went indoors. Mind you it still felt grand :+1:

Lots of thunder and lightning but no need for a rain gauge…zero, zilch, nada :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

You lot are like a Chinese water torture - telling me how much rain you’ve had when we’ve had bugger all. And now I’m getting bored with this hot weather and can’t wait for the winter months. Methinks I’ll emigrate to Alaska

There is even some water in my bottom pond this morning, not a lot, but not to be sniffed at (well you wouldn’t sniff a late bog would you?)

But last night was great, I lay naked in the darkened kitchen veranda, which has a glass roof, admiring the glorious jagged lightning coursing across the sky with the large slider window wide open beside me. Jules joined me, he was naked too, to lie on the cool tiles beside me.

Nah… too much kerfaffle … just wait a little longer :crossed_fingers:
