Mary, I can see from your post you’re distraught, but I can also say that, at least in the past, you haven’t helped yourself. All Irish birth certificates are in Irish and English and I have never, in forty years, had a problem with my late wife’s, my daughter’s nor my current (doesn’t that sound horrible?) wife’s being accepted in France. The Irish bit doesn’t need to be translated.

When Nico got involved, (baby’s father) we had a big fight as he picked a fight with the only one that was trying to help me at Urssaf so I’m back to waiting from them again.
As for not needing my Irish birth cert translated Irish to french, I know that I didn’t need to do that and that the English translation was enough but after 7 1/2 years of your dossier being constantly refused and having to pay all your medical bills out of pocket and not just GP visits
But Hospital stays, surgery and very expensive meds. You become kind of desperate when even the embassy letters don’t reap a positive response.
So I tried to find a solution and when that didn’t work, it ended in a tribunal, in which the C you next Tuesday that blocked my dossier for 7 1/2 years was fired. Minor victories. But exhausting and expensive.
And she’s still causing me grief as my social security number is less than 5years old (it should be 12yrars old) despite me living and working here longer.
I don’t have the same rights as a french person(last call with la caf) and they are now giving me a contrôle because clearly I’m lying about my situation.
Funny thing is, if you borrow money from family or friends, it’s considered revenue so I’m “too rich” to qualify for aide from la caf
Which includes childcare assistance so I’m back to square one.
Oh and they’ve threatened to remove my son if I can’t care for him.
Yes I’m distraught
I’m mad
And hurt
Because playing by the book, working hard and being straight seems to only backfire on me
