Today is the International Day of Older Persons

Three cheers for many of us. It is our day today.
Are you doing anything to celebrate?
I plan to carry on breathing.

I’ll let you know when I get to be an “older person”. I’m now at the stage, like my mother when she used to talk about the “old dears” who lived in her street. Quite often they were younger than my Mum.

You’ve lost me. Remember what?

By the way, it’s International Elderly Persons’ Day today…

Edited: or Older Persons’, not young ones anyway, I haven’t much time for them these days…

It’s just the name for the day, I suppose, not our own attitude of mind to it.
We seem to have a name for each day now, today it is for the less young.

Time we had a commemoration-free day, before the entire calendar gets choked up like the Saragossa Sea with slogans and silly lapel ribbons.

What about a Bugger-It-All Day?

Is that the same as a “can’t be arsed sort of day”?

Yes indeed! I’d, say it’s a mirror image. Difficult to effect beyond a certain level of youthful athleticism, though :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It is also the International Day of Chocolate ::::::
