Tracing micro chipped pony?

Hi all recently bought a little miniature Shetland...no papers but my vet found his chip. She telephoned the French authority and they told her that his number indicates that he's imported. Would love to know his history...but have no idea where to start searching...the first six letters of his chip are...528246..........


Any help appreciated. :-)
