Still on Christmas, I’m making the Christmas cake - (bit late I know but better late than never), just put the fruit on to soak but I don’t have any treacle - what is the best substitute, bearing in mind it’s Sunday tomorrow and shopping is limited?
Incidentally, have just seen an advert on UK TV for Delia’s all in one Christmas Cake mix- I’m gutted, I’m buying one next year - just to see if it’s as good as the real thing, as that’s the recipe we always use. I’ll also add that I use her mince meat recipe and it’s so easy peasy, it’s absolutely fantastic, you will never buy mincemeat again.
We’ll have the Christmas carols on tomorrow while we do the baking, then it’s time to do the Christmas cards, weh hey.
