I think that it is hugely important whether he clings on to power now or is planning on running in '24 with “they stole it from me” as part of his campaigning.
If he stays in the White House in Jan (no doubt enabled by all the sycophants recently elevated to high office) it means that the results of a democratic election don’t matter - which is the shift point to totalitarianism, if it doesn’t matter this year it will be a long time (and might need conflict) before it matters again.
If he ultimately concedes it will, at least, show that “the process” works. It will also make him much less of a threat in 2024 (still not a good person to re-elect) as I don’t think, at that point, he’ll be able to attack the two term limit which means he’s gone for good in '28
I remain pretty worried by what’s happening in the 'States though (possibly even more than I’m worried about UK politics at present).
