I doubt they will, with Trump in charge.
Senate has gone Red, it looks like the House will as well. an unopposed Trump with idiots like Musk at the helm will do untold damage. In particular Musk’s plan seems to be to crash the US economy and pick up assets in the resulting fire sale.

But wasn’t it down to this ability Trump has to lie convincingly about everything? He claims he will put more money in the pockets of people who are struggling financially. He also scapegoats illegal immigrants for the ills real or imaginary of the country. Simplistic answers to complex issues - just like Brexit. We know they always fail. Will he last more than a year in the role before being declared unfit? How would they choose his successor? It wouldn’t automatically be Vance would it except in an emergency?

I agree and have commented that the “intellectual” message of the Democrats was ineffective for many voters. I’m still shocked that the rubbish that Trump came out with gained traction with so many. I am shocked that there so, so many gullible people. It’s irrational, and tribal. They’ve “won”, but they have no idea what they’ve won.
I think we should adopt a modified John Galt philosophy and just retreat to a hidden rational country of our own.
Let’s not forget that half of the electorate has less than average intelligence.

One “good” thing that has come out of this - none of you may agree with me - is that we have certainty. We know what we are dealing with. We are not facing a fortnight and more of uncertainty with recounts, with demos, with marches on the Capitol.
None of you may like where we are.
I, personally, ALWAYS prefer to know exactly what it is I face. It’s not knowing that I fear. I have spent weeks with anxiety (I have thought for months Harris would lose). Now I have none.
Like when my brother fell ill just before one Christmas and I spent 2 weeks terrified with what I would be facing. Once I knew it was cancer, I could then do something, plan, organise.
This is no different. It really isn’t - and that’s what much of the world can now do.

Which will enable interest rates to be reduced everywhere - reducing a main motor for inflation in the US.
