Even if the wiper sweeps from right to left, a few inches up the arc of the wiper would create a space.
Chop a bit off the end of the wiper, a cm or two would do.
Now I’m confused… are you saying there isn’t any clean bit… or the clean bit is covered with other stuff… cheese maybe
Perhaps a photo of your car (with or without a cheesey topping) would help us to provide a recipe-for-success, which will tickle your tastebuds and satisfy the appetite of even the most ravenous Gendarme…
I’d chop a bit off the end of the clown doing the MOT
I have to stick the heads up display plastic patch to my windsreen and the whole point is to put that in the viewing area. Its clear so hopefully wont cause a problem MOT time.
Er… to be safe, maybe it should be a French cheese…
Here you go.
As you can see, there’s nowhere near enough room, between the windscreen wiper and the edges (side and bottom) of the screen, to fit the pass.
How much space at the bottom? You can as I mentioned earlier encroach into the swept are up to 40 mm so if there is 30mm at the bottom it will fit. If not trim a bit off the bottom of the sticker so long as the class number is on show.
Actually, you mustn’t cut into the “code square” thingy… which the cameras etc will be reading… so better to trim off the top… but I wouldn’t think it’s necessary to cut at all…
just needs carefully planning before sticking as they don’t “budge” once in place.
I don’t think trimming a bit off the bottom will help, because the wipers sweep almost the entire bottom right corner of the screen.
If no windscreen is available… there is the alternative, treat it like a motobike and stick to the outside… check the video for placement suggestions…
It wouldnt matter if its not right in the corner, but its difficult to see in the shaded area before the windscreen rubber gasket.
If that’s your interpretation, perhaps it’s better if you simply don’t visit France?
Where do you suggest I put the pass, where it won’t be swept by the wiper?
@CritairConfused
Might be an idea if you discuss with your MOT Inspector… I’m sure there’s a reasonable solution. (and being swept by the wiper won’t actually touch the vignette as it’ll be behind the glass…)
That dark strip at the bottom of the screen, above the rubber gasket, isn’t shaded.
It’s opaque black.
I didn’t mean physically swept by the wiper.
I meant the pass will be within the swept area of the screen.
Ah… then, as I suggested… discuss with your Inspector… best of luck.
Then stick it to the outside beneath the wiper with the motorcycle sticker in the black zone?
