Naughty
Getting close to 200 posts on this subject, who could ever have imagined that such a seemingly simple matter could be so complex…
Actually, if I thought everything else in life could be so difficult to resolve, I’d probably just slash my wrists here and now (here’s probably a one or two SFers who’d say , “Aw, go on do it anyway.”

but their letter leaves a little to be desired…

… which has me wondering if you’ve not purchased through CritAir themselves (French Government) but one of the “other” intermediary sites…
Indeed, the translation is awful.
Mine (definitely ordered from the official website) was in French, not broken English.

I only paid 4.61 Euros, including tax and postage, so I’m guessing it was the official site.
Sounds about right, it’s €3,72 in France; can’t remember exactly what I paid for the last one but I think it is a little more if sent to the UK than within l’Hexagone.

slash my wrists here and now
I’m getting close.
Now ,should that be above or below where your wristwatch strap, should you wear one, lies? If your are a gaucher should that be your other wrist?
I remember early on in my working career, someone who I admired and respected greatly, once told me that in life there are simplifiers and complexifiers. His strong advice to me at that tender young age was ‘be a simplifier and you will go far’.
I never forgot those words.
I worked with one recently, bought them a Nike Tee shirt for Christmas.
(Just Do It)
I’ve figured out a way to do it.
I stuck the pass to a piece from a clear polythene bag, then trimmed the polythene flush with edges of the pass.
Moistening the front slightly, allows it to grip to the screen, like a tax disc holder.
It looks like it’s been attached in the normal way, but I can remove if for the MOT, than put it back again afterwards.

I will sleep easier tonight. Thank you for putting my mind at rest.
no risk of insomnia
Oh dear now we’ll have people using that technique for other types of pass that need to be stuck on windscreens but are designed to disintegrate when anyone tries to remove them. Certain motorway pases come to mind.
I can foresee a major crime wave or at least, a severe security risk.

I can foresee a major crime wave
But hopefully, they’ll leave the cheese that’s stuck on the windscreen…
One hundred and ninety-two!
It seems a Critical decision has been made

It seems a Critical decision has been made
It’s good that we’ve been able to air this.
Wildcard.
A first owner of my 2015 electric van, purchased by me in 2020, was a medical supplies courier in Paris. As their daily work was in the Paris Crit’Air zone they put the necessary green 0 sticker in the windscreen, bottom left looking from the driving seat. It is in the upswept area of the wipers, unlike the CT & tax vignettes on the right that do partially intrude into that.
They clearly used the van in Paris during high pollution periods & had no issues.
Having read through this thread very carefully, I’m going to apply my Crit’Air sticker to the outside face of the left rear tyre. It’s not what the instructions mandate but I reckon it will be fine.

French CT requirements are not the same as UK MOT…
so I’m wondering if the previous Driver/Owner was a Brit…
and, of course, the Crit’ical question is… are you leaving the sticker th’Air … ???

,should that be above or below
If you have to ask then you wont do it.

apply my Crit’Air sticker to the outside face
You could place it on the front left bumper and cover it with clingfilm.

Not after reading almost 200 comments about a sticker, no.
