UK to pay some health costs of retired Britons in EU

Apologies if this is old hat to many, but this is on the Guardian Onlines page today. May be of interest to some.

And after 12 months?..

If no deal after 12 months then it’ll be Pay-as-you-go Mat! 8% RFR etc etc

Having recently attended one of the ‘brexit roadshows’ in Poitier, it was made clear that the 12 month promise was purely to calm peoples nerves around what was going on. It was made clear that negotiations with the other EU 27 will continue to enable on going health care funding in reciprocal deals (as we have now). My impression was that it will be sorted as the other EU 27 also want to know their citizens in the UK are also able to receive health care whilst living and working there.
