This is an appeal through SurviveFrance for help of a practical nature... we need to re-insulate our roof but we have been let down by the team of builders who were booked to come to our house in Provence for two weeks at the end of may/beginning of june and we urgently need to find someone else to do the job... paid of course.
In brief,this involves taking off all of the roof tiles and raising the height of 7 velux windows by a few centimeters. Once done, a specialist will spray in foam insulation, and the tiles will then have to be replaced at a slightly higher level on contra battens with a layer of thin foil insulation acting as a vapor barrier / felt. We already have the contractor booked to do that insulation work. The tiles can be relaid section by section, almost as soon as the insulating contractor has finished.
We have 315 square meters of terra-cotta mechanical tiles, including 2 D ends in traditional roman tiles.
For a team of 3 the work will probably take no more than 7 days, although 9 can be allowed. Accommodation with breakfast can be provided.
