I tried growing them from seed, I thought they were doing ok, then they stopped growing and that was it. Very disappointing.
I’ll look at that. I do like edamame. As I say, our local Carrefour is a bit rubbish.
If you’re near a Biocoop or a Grand Frais it might be worth checking. Or Picard do frozen ones from Italy. I hadn’t realised so many were grown in Europe.

Only some Chris. I used to live in Kew (Richmond) and even though there is a slight tendency towards ponciness and trendiness most people are just ordinary.

I quite like Richmond, nice green spaces, the park of course, still some independent shops, though nearby Teddington is much better on that front. Unfortunately, in Richmond the traffic is awful, not helped by the narrow streets.
I know, I was exaggerating for comedy effect.
And the deer 
I’ve fed them, but I suppose you’re not meant to these days.
Last night turning onto our “route” a deer or maybe a fawn crossed the road. Totally unafraid and not darting away. It’s the first deer I’ve seen here in twenty-two years.

I used to have a quarterly meeting in York.
One of my colleagues would always go to Betty’s for breakfast.
I used to go to the big park with a pocketful of hazelnuts and feed the squirrels, some of which were bold enough to climb my trouser leg onto my knee.

Seen loads in the forestry here, but I saw my first in the village crossing the road in front of me. I think they’re getting a bit desperate for food and water due to the extended drought and it’s bringing them out into the open.

There is that, true. Yusuf seems an embarrassment all round, I wonder why he’s still there? I believe he also called Jenrick a traitor.

I, too, am puzzled by Yusuf’s role in Reform. It must be quite difficult to moan about Sadiq Khan when you have a “house” Muslim in the ranks. If, God forbid, Reform were to be the next government and Yusuf is given a seat, what will his role be?

I can’t take seriously an article which links a water shortage caused by the water privatisation scandal to global warming.
I don’t doubt climate change.
I think climate change IS the main cause of water shortages . Summer rainfall in England has fallen by 15% since the 1990s according to the Met Office. But of cause it has been exacerbated by lack of investment from private water companies. So no need to diss the article.
I think this is why people like me are so cynical about the climate change lobby.
Poor infrastructure causes water loss in the UK of 3 billion litres a day.
The Environment Agency estimates that England faces a public water shortfall of 5 billion litres per day (by 2055, ie in ~30 years’ time) if no major interventions are made.
On the figures, then, it’s poor infrastructure (the direct result of privatisation) that is overwhelmingly the main cause of water loss in the UK.
I can’t see that anyone has provided a figure for the additional contribution climate change is claimed to make, though it would be interesting to know. Maybe you have those figures?
