Have your dog on a lead, is probably best advice in wooded areas etc… very few are so well trained that they will stroll meekly along the correct pathway, when there are interesting scents or sights…

We are careful in the period, not because it is the law but because mama sanglier can be extremely nasty when protecting her little marcassins. Hunting morilles poses same risks if one inadvertently disturbs a litter of boar
Of course, hunters and their dogs are exempt from this wildlife protection law…
They can’t hunt during this period.
So why make them exempt?
