Just got an alert update email from *HMG *
Change made:
Updated information regarding renewing your WARP under the ‘Replacement cards and renewals’ section.
As so often with much on gov.uk very confusing navigation so can’t get to narrative, has anybody succeeded in reading it?
I’ve read the HMG stuff, but it only tells you to renew/upgrade direct through your prefecture -where, at least on ours (Aveyron) there’s nothing.
Some SFers might disagree, but I suspect I’ll learn most about WARP renewals through The Connexion, unless of course anyone here knows the latest.
Is this what I think it is? If so they’d be the last person I’d expect to get any information from. I’d imagine the lady at the counter in the boulangerie will know and understand more about the procedure than them, she seem to be accurate with everything else…
But seriously, I can’t see why people wouldn’t default to Kim and her group or one of the others, RIFT or such if they still exist, they had accurate information previously and given Kim’s reputation with car stuff, I can’t see why she wouldn’t be more trustworthy and in the know on this than anyone aside from the French government themselves.
Yes, there is some information within those groups. But there is largely nothing to say yet as few préfectures have made necessary changes. And there are only a few people with WARPs that expire in next few months.
I’ve just had an email from Tory’s old lot which waa excellent. Very clear. And possibly, just possibly, written through gritted teeth by whoever drafted it.
The reason for the potential gritted teeth being that the email makes very clear applicstions for WARP renewals are now made to each individual Prefecture.
As if that wouldn’t make anyone who’s seen tales on here worry a bit, it’s made very clear in the email that there may be variation in requirements for the process across Prefectures. There’s also advice to check very carefully by what method will each step be communicated eg email, or post, and wiĺl an atteststion be given so you csn prove you applied to someone if need be. Also to ask by what method is the final outcome to be received and to make sure to find out if you’ll be required to attend an appointment at the Prefecture to coĺlect or if you should just watch the Prefecture website for news of your application etc.
It’s masterfully written and strikes fear into my heart about the process potentially turning out to be nonstandard, umpredictsble, potentially onerous and stressful due doubtful communication.
A friend had a confirmed appointment at Pref. as required to collect visa. Got there only to be told no record of the appointment. Producing confirmatory email apparently did not chsnge this. Had to wait some weeks then repeat the journey for a new appointment.
Just be thankful you’re not in Strasbourg Karen. Otherwise you’d probably be sleeping outside the Prefecture in a bivouac.
SeeminglyCalvados got its act together early
looks very straightforward
I hope everyone who needs to access that has France Connect. I’ve been surprised recently by the number of people who can’t use it.
There appears to be an option to create an account with an email address.
Yes me … and our FB group .
Article 50 TUE Carte de Séjour (WA-RP) | Facebook
The report from the Embassy via gov pages is nothing new.
We have a few prefectures that have listed their requirements but nothing is consistent.
We are anticipating that it will eventually be online on ANEF as there is an option but not activated yet.
There is a form that is generic but has the 2 month before expiry requirements and an early exceptional circumstance list.
There’s nothing new on there that isn’t already known.
It’s only telling you what to do if you need to replace it and vague info on renewing.
I looked at a couple of préfectures who seem to have set up renewals and in each case they gave a link to the identical document setting out the requirements. It was issued by the Ministry for the Interior and is headed " Fiche Retrait RU Brexit_Renouvellment titre sejour_mai2024"
https://www.nord.gouv.fr/contenu/telechargement/99347/704418/file/RoyaumeUni_RenouvellmentTS_mai2024_BDEAI_vs.pdf
This isn’t correct, the info they are requesting on simplifiees is far from simple and not required to renew an Article 50 cds.
The form to download is the generic one everyone is using and this contains the info they need.
You need to create an ANEF account to check your details.
But their TdS renewal is barking …
Yes correct and this corresponds to the Service-Public site on Brexit.
What is not correct?
All the info they are asking on Demarches-Simplifiees.
Ah OK I thought you meant my link was not correct.
I do not know and happily I am not concerned yet but it looks to me as if the list sets out the justificatifs that are required. It does not specify what information they can ask for. Two different things perhaps?
The form lists two scenarios, applying within 2 months, which is very little info and more than 2 months of expiry which requires more info.
The info requested on D-S is bonkers.
I realise neither of those links were your doing @kim, but just to make this clear for even people as daft as me, the nord.gouv.fr link seems to suggest what you’ve been saying all along, no? 1) Passport 2) proof of residence 3) if it’s expiring in the next two months the old card and if it’s not proof you’ve been here over 5 years, and 4) new photos ?
The calvados link didn’t seem helpful at all to me, but maybe I misunderstood it, but the nord link seems to be what we thought, I think? It’s Friday, it’s way too hot, and it’s been a very long week, so I need things explained to me like I’m a toddler at this point ![]()
