Its simple you Will conform!!!
I did not know that - I love info like that! It will stick with me forever now. But where are my keys…
Did they do a bit of Feng shui?
Same thing really. Did you also know that one US gallon is also 5 bottles of wine ?
I still receive CAD plans from the UK in feet and inches.
One day, one of our commercial chaps came into my office & asked me to look at some plans and a scope of works. He left disappointed when I told him the plans were in feet, not meters.
My little Pomchiter (POMeranian CHIhuahua TERrier) boy and me are today walking along the GR21, which follows the cliffs near Dieppe, Normandy. Incredibly lush vegetation (right by the Bois de Moutiers garden, just voted one of the 25 best gardens in the world by the New York Times no less), very steep paths down to tiny coves, and multi-million euro houses of the very rich and rare tucked away in the woods along the cliffs. A rural Riviera, but very beautiful…My little boy’s first ever visit to a beach…
The first time I took our Airedale Vita to the beach she took one look at the sea and bid a retreat to the sand dunes. I continued along the beach until I came to a cliff outcrop where the sea was lapping the edge of the cliff - only very shallow, so I splashed through it, thinking great this will introduce Vita to the sea. Next thing, I heard the sound of tumbling rocks above my head - she was climbing the cliff rather than going in the water. So we came home.
Airedales are part-bred from Otter Hounds, intended for hunting water vermin along the dales. You’d never believe it from our lot - they walked round puddles rather than get their feet wet. We have yet to find out how our newest one, Rona, feels about water.
Lovely photos - looks gorgeous. (And that includes the Pomchiter)
Which reminds me, we took Bertie, our mutt, to the sea (Atlantic coast south of Bordeaux) and he loved the beach - great for digging, saying hello to other dogs. I decided to go on the water, not far because the surf is pretty rough, happened to turn round and there was Bertie, fighting against the waves, trying to get to me, as I obviously needed rescuing. You’d never see our Airedales do that!
Where @Tory’s from, that word’s probably seldom heard in polite company…
A spife? Dangerous.
I’m coming home. Left Hawai’i last week. Currently on Vancouver Island. Had to smile when I came back to Canada. I had to fill in a detailed questionnaire as I’m not a Canadian citizen. The lady who was checking me asked was it correct that I have a UK passport but live in France. So I replied in French and we had quite a long conversation. This week I am travelling East to Ottawa and then spending couple of nights in Montreal before finally heading home to France. When I was a kid growing up in a council estate I would never have believed the life I now lead.
Procrastinating, panicking and packing🤞Moving in 12 days.
This evening we’re celebrating eight years of being tax resident in France. Dinner with lots of friends at our favourite local resto, La Racine et la Moelle, the best food in Figeac. It’s very good, with a lovely ambiance, natural wines and not crazy prices. Have to book well in advance.
Enjoy
Outrageous self-indulgence… Looks great - enjoy!
Where to @ChrisK ?
Moving is stressful so ‘Urgences’ is looking a distinct possibility. If I can avoid that we will be about 50k south of Angoulême
