What colour can I paint my houses exterior?

I live in 85480 St Hilaire Le Vouhis, Chantonnay.

Comments please?

If you are within a historic monument zone, there may be restrictions on the colour.

Or, as has been said before, go to the Mairie and ask them if they have samples cards of acceptable colours for walls/shutters/roof-tiles etc. If there are no restrictions (the Mairie will tell you) then you do precisely as you please.

You seem to have your caps lock on. Or maybe you're just shouting. If you have a wander round you will see what colours are being used in your locality. Some areas of France; Ile de France, pays de Loire/ Touraine seem to have a very strict and limited palette for conservation reasons others are less rigorous. One can see some sublimely awful colour schemes which are so bad they're almost (but not quite) good.

you can't get more sensible than ask at the mairie, can you...?! ;-)

LOOKING FOR SENSIBLE COMMENTS PLEASE!!

WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE GO AHEAD TO PAINT THE EXTERIOR OF OUR HOUSE FROM THE MAIRIE BUT DIDN'T KNOW IF EACH VILLAGE HAD A CERTAIN COLOUR TO GO WITH!!

Looking at St Hilaire Le Vouhis (on Street View) there are already some pink or at least pinkish houses.

Surely you have to go and ask at the Mairie? It's what I would do.

PINK - Be different.

pop in to your mairie and ask if there are any restrictions ;-)
